Not perfect, but the best I've found if I do my part..
This review is for: Depend Guards for Men Convenience Pack Maximum Absorbency, 52-Count I started using Depend For Men Guards 18+ years ago, shortly after radical prostatectomy surgery for very aggressive prostate cancer. That was 1996 and I was 52 years old at the time. Mine was a classic case of ...

The New Guards are a step down...
For whatever reason, Depends has replaced the excellent men's Guards pad product and replaced it with a new version--now in a grey package--that is less comfortable, less absorbent and unfortunately less "dependable". I'm a little angry. At first I thought it could be my imagination. So I thought to...

Not what they used to be
These used to be a good product, but not now. The absorption has been cut to where I have to change them more often and where I used to use one during the night I now use three! Not to mention that they leak from the sides. I will never buy them again.
Quality declined
Obviously the guard has reduced the amount of material to absorb in the last couple months. Used to work much better but I guess that's the corporate way by decreasing the amount of product. Only problem is that many of us depend on these for medical issues and reducing the material has a much greater affect than having less cereal in a box
Too long
I used to wear the shields but as I got older they were no longer able to protect me from wetness. I had tried the old guards a few years ago but found them very uncomfortable. The new ones are great for absorbency but I still find them uncomfortable because of their length they bunch up in my crotch. I wish you would make them about two thirds as long.
Very effective and comfortable.
I have prostate cancer and these pads are a godsend. I wear the very day and they work exceedingly well.
Going downhill from previous versions
The latest incarnation (purchased in September 2023 wrapped in a white pouch versus the earlier gray pouch) of the Mens Guards is a step in the wrong direction from the previous version. It is lighter and noticeably less absorbent than the previous version. I will be looking at other brands for comparison now. Previously, I hadn't shopped around because I was so happy with the Guards.
Not diaper like...discrete inside tighty whiteys
Works well for weak bladdered guys like me. I feel the urge to go about every hour and sometimes can't get to the urinal when it gets urgent. So I let a bit of wetness out and my bladder feels okay till I can finally fully relieve myself. When I was younger I wore pull up style but these were too diaper like. Still do not hold a full voiding but about a half one. Once I lost control and these held most of my wetness but still damp underwear and slacks or jeans. Good for light to moderate lost of bladder control. Not good for heavy or complete loss though. I am in my late 30s. Wish I had these as a kid...better than Pampers I wore inside my underwear as a kid.
Under pads
It is comfortable. I do not use it for incontanance. I simple use in my hospital bed because I am non mobile at this time and it protects my underneath when I'm sweating and such. I have notice though that the more I sweat the fibers of the top layer pull apart and under often being stuck in my backside and my vaginal area causing great irritation. Often breaking me out and causing a painful sore on my backside. Other products have their downs also. Not sure what to do about this
Leak Proog
These work really well. I think it would be nice if they offered a variety pack so that you could change the size to better fit with the clothing you are wearing.
These work great
I had a member of my family use these. They found them easy to use and very discreet. They had no leaks at all, they are very absorbent.
Dependable
This is a game changer!! No leaks no changing sheets or having to change clothes. Most important they are discreet!!
