I guess it's not just me!

Yep, the new recipe is nearly inedible. I would definitely eat straight raw oats before this. It's what I imagine the stuff you line a gerbil cage with tastes like.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

I've been eating Alpen religiously since I was a kid. Now it tastes bland and feels gritty. This is the last box I will ever buy.

Did I buy bird food by mistake!

I have loved the original Alpen recipe since I was a small child. I'm not sure when the recipe changed, but I just ordered 12 boxes of the new recipe. Big mistake, the new recipe tastes nothing like the original and I can't bring myself to eat the boxes ordered. I guess cost cutting is at play here, maybe private equity with the bright idea to change the recipe hoping the customer won't notice. News flash, Alpen now tastes awful and is a poor relation to other muesli brands on sale. So sad to see the death of an icon!

On the front of the box it says "Original Recipe" and below that "New Recipe". It can't be both.

Awful, awful stuff

Truly awful product. It gave me indigestion for two days. I guess Post didn't learn a thing from Budweiser or New Coke and we're presented with a product that tastes like kitty litter. This is what happens when financing and marketing start pulling the strings at a food company. If you own shares in Post, might be time to cash in if this is the garbage they are going to be producing. Foul stuff that I would not recommend to someone I hated. Well, maybe my ex-wife, but that's all. Avoid this foul mush.

New recipe is a complete flop, tastes bad ans is harder to digest, I burped the bad taste for hours after eating it, will definitely never buy again, too bad Post, plus you are an American company and I am a proud Canadian that is now happy to ditch anything that comes from the "new recipe" USA, both of you should go back to the original!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

New Recipe Alpen, not so great

The old recipe had less salt and more naturally occurring sugars and honestly, it just doesn't taste as good :-( Please bring back the old recipe and charge more if you have to.

I used to love this cereal. It meet the breakfast needs I had. I liked how they used fruit for sugar instead of the traditional ways companies add sweetness. Unfortunately the cereal since the change now taste like a pile of cardboard mush. I switched to another cereal company and did'nt look back. I was a fan of Alpen, and now I never think about them anymore. My wish is that they would turn back time on their product.

Zero Stars The new taste and formula are awful. Less nutty and really nothing like the original recipe of old. Sugar free and regular taste almost identical now. Guess I won't be buying this anymore- I've been eating it for 40 years so I know how it tastes - Post you got it wrong!

I have eaten Alpen since I was a child. There was nothing better than getting to the bottom of the bowl and enjoying the sweet powder. I have loathed every bite of the new recipe which is also too $$.
