Not like it used to be

I grew up with my mom using this seasoning for her stew . It's one of the best memories I have . As I started my own family in the late 80's , it was obviously my "go to " for a comforting and hearty meal . In the past few years as I've used this seasoning , it's really not been the same . First of all , they don't recommend tossing the beef in flour first and then browning . In my opinion , it's what really added to a hearty gravy in the stew . Secondly , it just does not taste the same . They have changed the recipe . I researched it and apparently they have reduced the salt ( I'm ok with that as you could season to your taste) and they have also eliminated certain ingredients . Their advice is to add seasoning and cook for longer than directed . It was perfect the way it used to be . If I have to add this and that and it still doesn't turn out as I expect , than I might as well find a new recipe . Seems like this is the norm and the way we are headed these days .,,, constantly changing things that are perfect the way they are . Thank you for the memories Clubhouse . I really appreciate that you are a Canadian company but I don't think your products reflect my Clubhouse upbringing anymore . That matters to me All the best Lynda

I used this mix to make a beef stew and found Im allegic to something in the mix. Some spice or somthing I felt really sick and had a bad reaction. I contacted the company email and called the phone number and told them what had happened I asked what spices were in it so I know to avoid it and the mixes they make in the future, I was told they couldnt tell me due to privacy issues, I dont buy any Club house products anymore incase they have the same spices and I get sick again

Cooked with this product 5 times now (on stove top), following said instructions. The taste was okay but it was a bit watery. Tried to adjust but to no avail. Suggest making sure you have some corn starch (or equivalent) handy in case similar occurrence happens with yours.

I remember my mom always using this for her beef stew ever since I was a little girl and I've been using it for years now when I'm cooking for family, friends, and coworkers. It adds that little something extra so that my stew always tastes like Mom's.

This does NOT work in the slow cooker.. runny and awful.. most stews are now made in the slow cooker.. please adjust your recipes.. you used to have a slow cooker specific mix and you got rid of it

There's not a speck of real food in this product. Everything has been so heavily processed that it's not even recognizable. Just do a google search for beef stew, and buy the individual spices. It's not like it's any extra work, and you'll get to make something truly your own.
