Horrible Fish

  • Submitted 17 days ago

The batter was very thick and way too greasy. The beer was also way too overpowering. I cooked it for 12 minutes because I wanted it to be extra crispy, which it was, but the inside was also very gooey. Additionally, none of the pieces were actually made of a full fillet. Instead, they were all end pieces of fish that looked like trimmings stuck together to create a fillet. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone-try a different brand!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Tasted and looked like old fish. Did not taste like haddock at all, or look white and flaky. Nasty.

Awful, overpowering beer flavour ..

These look incredible straight out of the oven, but when you cut in you're met with the skinniest cut of fish and such a thick, gooey breading. The smell and taste of beer is way too overpowering! ENDED UP WITH A MOUTHFUL OF BONES!

I have been buying this fish for many years, sadly no more. The fish is horrible so thin and gooey. The batter leaves a pile of grease in my air fryer. I always buy extra boxes when on sale for my daughter and family she called me one night after the littles said it was not fish it was yucky to ask me where I purchased it from because it was not presidents choice fish. Ahh yes it was. I will never purchase this garbage again. ,

Taste great and nicely flakey

I cooked four of these (at the same time), in our Convection Toaster Oven (so, at 25 degrees F lower than box instructions). I DID make sure to place a double layer of aluminum foil on the roasting tray, including folding little walls around the edges; DEFINTELY don't want fish oil spilling into the oven! ;-) These were nicely done, at the time instructed on the box (flipping the filets over, 1/2-way through, also per box instructions) :-) They were YUMMY and flakey. They really WERE reminiscent of the better English fish & chips fish :-)

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

This used to be really good

This used to be our go to for fish and chips but recently it has become inedible. The appearance coming out of the oven was identical to the image on the box, until you cut into a piece. The wafer thin piece of fish inside was grey in appearance and consisted of multiple small pieces placed together ......probanly the very end pieces by the tail. From a wonderful product I purchased for years to something I will never consider buying again.

Upset stomach

Tried for dinner ,cooked a little longer than suggested as my experience with frozen fish , but it still was mushy , more batter than fish . Tasted nothing like Haddock, definitely do not recommend. My wife and I have both got upset stomachs .. Throwing the remaining product out .

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
