great. battery one year.
Hold button down to switch from C to F (hard to notice change) battery was L736F replaced with dollar store AG3 = LR736 = LR41 = L36 = 192 7.9X3.6mm
Handy
Bought this years ago and has worked flawlessly since. Batteries are just common watch batteries which you can get anywhere and last 2-3 years. My only complaint is the page of instructions that are easily lost and trying to find a link to get another copy. Shouldn't Vicks have a support area??
RUBBISH
Good concept, however requires CR1225 Batteries which are very difficult to get. So regardless of how good the product it, is it too much of a hassle to find batteries.
Expensive product with a short life
Bought this thermometer when I was sick. Rarely used it. One day I needed it again and the battery was dead. Can't find a replacement battery anywhere and now I have the flu. I'm contagious for 24 hours after my fever breaks and I can't tell when that is without buying a new thermometer!! I'm not even sure how effective it is given that my dr's thermometer always showed a different temp.
Junk
Used the thermometer one time and it malfunctioned. I have tried replacing batteries and still a no go. Now I am out the cost of the worthless thermometer and the cost of new battery. Don't waste your money on this product.
Can't buy replacement batteries
I've searched every store and online seller I can think of. It is not possible to purchase replacement batteries for this thermometer. So, if you want an expensive disposable thermometer, this is the product for you.
Battery is horrible
I purchased one and it didn't work at all so I returned it. I decided to try a second one and it was great for a short period of time and now the battery is dead. The price is great but if you have to keep replacing batteries every couple weeks it's not worth it.
Doesn't work
I have been searching for a thermometer to use for our 6 month old and was excited when I found this. However, it stopped working after a few uses. We used it a few times and worked great, now, only a few weeks later it doesn't work at all, it just shows a V looking symbol on the side and doesn't light up. Very dissapointed.
I loved this thermometer for maybe 2 weeks, but...
I bought this thermometer when my daughter was sick and it was great, I loved it, First, the numbers started disappearing, and now there's only a little V when you turn it on. Worked wonderfully when new. 2 weeks later, not at all. Disappointed.
Don't buy it. Don't take it as a gift.
Never. Once. Worked. Error code, after error code, after error code.
