The Philips Advent Airfree Vent Seal Bottle is designed to decrease common issues related to feeding including colic, reflux, and gas by keeping the nipple full of milk instead of air. They come in a variety of sizes and starter packs, and for the purpose of this review, I was sent a 3 pack as part ...of the Stellar Product testing panel. The bottle comes with 5 pieces: a 9oz bottle, a #2 nipple, the ring that the nipple fits in and screws on the top of the bottle, the lid/cover, and air-free vent. The air-free vent is a single piece, promising that this product is simple to use and easy to clean. Overall, I had a great experience with these bottles. While we (luckily) dont have a colicky baby, our LO does enjoy a post-feed spit up from time to time and was known to be quite gassy after a big bottle so we were still able to benefit from this product. With this simple yet effective design, there was a noticeable decrease in the amount of gas and spit up that she had following a full feed. What I really liked about this design was that I am able to sit her up more than with a traditional bottle, as the nipple remains more full of milk regardless of the angle. This has made night feedings a little easier and with less interruptions. I also really like the shape of this bottle as its shorter and wider and does not lose volume. The only downside I found to using this product is having an extra piece to clean and sanitize, especially if we are cycling through and using all of the bottles back to back. However, that being said, because it is just one piece it is easy to clean, and it sits at the mouth of the bottle effortlessly. Also as my baby gets older, I find that we dont need to use the air-free vent as often as she is naturally having less feeding issues. I gave this product a 4 star rating because I am unable to speak to whether or not it does reduce more extreme cases of colic specifically. I did see a reduction in gas and spit up with my LO, and I really like the bottle overall and continue to use it. In general, I would definitley recommend this product to my friends who have feeding issues related to gas and discomfort.
After two months of use, the green AntiAir insert started crumbling. This is dangerous because small pieces can get into the bottle, and the baby might swallow them. I always sterilize the bottles with Avent's sterilizer, so this might be the reason for the crumbling.
I spend more time trying fix leaking lids and nipples than I do feeding my twins. The last thing I need is the frustration of trying to fix lids while two babies are screaming at me.
These bottles are the absolute worst bottles made to man. 10 times out of 10 they're leaking milk. No matter how many times I rework the nipple into the ring, adjust the airflow vent, tighten or loosen the top. They're still leaking. I've bought 9 bottles and they're all the same. Junk and a waste of money.
We thought we found the perfect bottle after trying multiple different brands. We ended up buying 12 of these and within a month the anti colic insert warped from being put in the bottle sanitizer causing them to excessively leak. Even though they are dishwasher and sanitizer safe, Phillips says they do not recommended it after we reached out with our issue. We switched to Tommee Tippee advanced anti colic bottles and have no issues since. Even putting them in the dishwasher and sanitizer. These are a much better product. Steer clear of the Phillips Avent Anti Colic bottles to avoid this frustration.

We received this bottle as part of a gift from the Babylist bottle box, and it did not work for us. The bottle leaked, which is not a problem you want to have in the middle of the night or when you're on the go. I tried using it a second time and the same thing happened, so we discarded it.
As far as the actual product, it works great and my baby loves it. Now the box the bottles came in and the shipping box were completely a mess and I was sure the bottles were damaged but they were fine.

philips.comMy son loves these bottles. The wide base helps him latch correctly and he drinks his formula no problem!

philips.comI dont recommend this bottle. I prefer the Natutal bottle. This anti coloc thing causes some leaks around the nipple and the plastic holder. I would return if i could. Or excahnge it with Natiral bottle.

philips.comLove these because they filter out the air bubbles instead of putting them back in the formula. Our baby has less gas!

philips.comMyself and ny husband as new parents were very impressed by Philips anti-colic bottles. We started using it for feeding our baby right from her initial weeks and she could easily get used to bottle-feeding. The main reasons were the amazing power of the inner valves which could control the pace of flow and help immensely in avoiding gas entrapment. These bottles are also very easy for cleaning as every part can be disassembled. Great product and would certainly recommend to all parents!
