Pros: Best when...

Pros: Best when applied before bed to wake up with soft lips. Dead skin exfoliates so easily including dry skin around the lip corners. Effects are long lasting. SPF included. Cons: This product is not scented so the medicated smell really shines through. Not for everyone, especially if you're se...

I have been using this as my go to for sun protection for decades. It would stay longer than any other product. I bought some recently and didn't notice the SPF was removed, since it's the same packaging. I am religious about wearing sun screen on my lips since I get sun related cold sores. I have one now since I didn't notice there was no SPF. Thanks Blistex. Very deceptive. You ruined my favorite product. Reasons listed for purchase are for the old product. So sad. Wish I could find the old product.

I have bought dct with spf 20 for about 20 years and never got sunburned lips Then a couple of years ago, I had just purchased 10 of them. My lips kept getting sunburned and I couldn't figure out why, then looked closer at the tub and no sunscreen. Very deceiving and deceitful!!!!

I have used your product faithfully for many years, and can't understand why you removed the spf from it?? It was convenient, and easy to apply, and the tub form was great. Now moved onto another manufacturer

This was my go-to for God knows how long because it feels amazing on my lips. However, at some point recently they stopped including sunscreen. There should be a HUGE WARNING on the label stating that the product that's always has sunscreen no longer does.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

The other 15 reviews I just read could have been written by me. The problem now (taking away SPF) and the love (not greasy and the smell is acceptable) of the original product couldn't be any clearer after reading these reviews. I never write reviews but this change is shockingly stupid. All poor ratings and negative recommendation in this review reflects the current product. I would have given 5 stars and highly recommended the original product.

I have used Blistex DCT for years and preferred it over the Lip Medex for the SPF protection. The product was always difficult to find, so I would stock up when I located it. Unfortunately, this company has removed the SPF benefit which makes it just a lip ointment with no sunscreen. I will no longer use or recommend this product.

I've been using this since the early 90's. The original had spf 15 then it had spf 20 and now it has no spf. The only time I get cold sores is when I'm in the sun. I used the newest formula and got a cold sore, which I thought was strange. Then I looked at the jar and it no longer has sunscreen. It's like an evil trick! Shame on you!!

I'm a pharmacist and this was my go to product that I used and recommended to patients. It no longer has spf so no good in the sun. My wife recently used it skiing and got bad blisters because we thought it had SPF but it now doesn't. Like putting oil on your lips in the hot sun. Not sure why they changed the formula. Not selling it in my pharmacy any longer.

Absorbs in right away and is not greasy or waxy. No aftertaste. My 17 year old son is now hooked on it as well. Been using for 20+ years great for winter and around the house but now that i can no longer find DCT with spf 20. I have to use other products for sun protection in summer. Don't understand why spf protection was removed

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
